I'm so glad you cleared the air on this, Mitt. I hate to say anything nice about you since I'm sure it's bad for your reputation. BUT, you're a good man. It takes a rare courage to call things as they are sometimes. We've all gotten carried away at times, and said things we shouldn't, or done things we wish we could have back. Standing up and calling a spade a spade takes character. You've got character, and courage, and there, that's your nice thing from me for the year.

This apology is bogus. Mitt said he was going to do this days before he did it. Now, he's saying it was in a drunken stupor. It was stu something alright. StuPID. Apology not accepted. Any nice thing I said to you is taken back. One vote for permaban here.

How being seen as a Cyber-bully will affect one in real life.... that would be relevant were it not for the fact the infraction had nothing to do with cyber-bullying or inciting to cyber-bully. Were Mitt a true leader he'd disabuse his "followers" of this notion and level with them. If he's indeed a lawyer, as has been said, he knows the infraction has to do with other things. He also knows that if it did get out, it would certainly negatively impact him in real life. He's also been told, in order to get a law degree (if this, again, can be believed) he's an officer of the court, and his behavior is under scrutiny.
Given all that, if he continues in this vein of mischaracterizing the facts of the situation, and in any way is prodding or urging his membership to conduct cyber-bullying, then his chosen profession was ill-chosen. But, he doesn't really care if his "followers" wallow in ignorance, as he leads them on about what really transpired...what lines were crossed...and he really can't claim it's all in-game role playing. So, any ostracization he recieves in real life as a result of him being himself is not only justified, it's well-deserved, and I can't believe he'd be crying about it. It is, after all, what he was after.
And, he got it.

Lock this thread. You locked my apology along with two others. So, lock this one. The forum is groaning under the weight. It is free advertising for chronic misbehavior, and elevates one who should be humbled. One can only assume CCP actually supports what this apology is about, rather than condemns it.

At the risk of repeating myself. Correction: It wasn't cyber-bullying. What was done wasn't done in-game. It was (contrary to Iceland's Media Act) using media covered by this act to advocate the commission of a felony. CCP's allowing Mitt's apology, taking his resignation before booting him thus allowing him to run for CSM again, ONLY a 30-day suspension (no ban), were all measures to make it appear CCP disapproved when they actually thought it was funny. They disapprove of the negative reaction.
Claming this all falls under cyber-bullying demonstrates a woeful lack of understanding the laws surrounding participating in drunken, public events broadcast openly on the media. CCP's response demonstrates either a.) Their legal beagles are oblivious of the legal parameters involved, or b.) They understand no one will report them to the appropriate authorities, so they only have to mollify us.
Allowing the subject to be shifted to cyber-bullying plays into Mitt's hands as it's irrelevant to what happened. Going on and on about cyber-bullying is what he wants. What he doesn't want is someone in Iceland reporting this to Iceland's Media Board.
What "we" want is to not be duped. So...this is the last time I'll post on this thread. If everyone else stops, and it stays on the front page listings, we can safely assume Goons are padding it to keep it there.
